We’re excited to have you join our learning community! At Busara, we believe education should be empowering, transparent, and fair. To help you feel confident about your enrolment, here’s a simple guide to our payment, cancellation, and refund policies.

1. Registration and Confirmation

Registration is only deemed confirmed once:

• A completed registration form has been submitted;
• Proof of payment has been received; and
• Payment has reflected and/or been verified by Busara Institute of Technology.

2. Payments

• Pay securely via EFT into our account.
• Cash deposits are accepted, but a 4% bank charge applies.
• Please email your Proof of Payment to info@busarainstitute.com.
• All fees must be paid before training begins, unless you’ve arranged a written payment plan.
• Once you’ve registered and paid, your fee is fixed — future price changes won’t affect you.

3. Assessment/Reassessment Terms

• Course fees cover training and the initial assessment only, unless otherwise stated.
• Reassessments, rewrites, resubmissions, or competency re-evaluations may attract additional fees.

4. Participant Substitutions

Participant substitutions may be permitted with written notice at least 48 hours before commencement, subject to approval by Busara.

5. Cancellations by Students

• Cancel early: If you cancel at least 7 days before the course, you’ll receive a refund (minus any admin fees).
• Late cancellations: Within 7 days of the start date, refunds are not available unless exceptional circumstances apply (e.g., medical emergencies, bereavement).
• No-shows: If you don’t attend without notifying us, no refund can be given.
• After starting: Once the course has begun, refunds are not available unless exceptional circumstances apply.

6. Cancellations or Rescheduling by Busara

Sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise. If we need to cancel or reschedule, you will be offered:

• A full refund,
• Credit toward a future course, or
• Placement in a rescheduled session.

7. Refunds

• Approved refunds are processed within 14 business days.
• Refunds are made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
• Admin or transaction fees may be deducted where applicable.

8. Practical Training Safety

Learners participating in practical sessions must comply with all health and safety instructions and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Busara reserves the right to remove participants who pose a safety risk. Candidates are required to come with safety boots.

9. Learner Conduct

Busara reserves the right to suspend or remove learners for misconduct, harassment, intoxication, unsafe behaviour, disruptive conduct, or academic dishonesty.

10. Privacy & POPIA Compliance

Busara Institute of Technology processes personal information strictly in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Your data is collected solely for registration, academic administration, and mandatory reporting to accreditation bodies. We do not share your details with third parties for any other purpose and maintain rigorous security measures to ensure your information remains confidential and protected.

11. Limitation of Liability

Busara shall not be liable for indirect losses, travel costs, accommodation costs, loss of income, business interruption, or consequential damages arising from attendance, cancellation, postponement, or participation in training.

12. Force Majeure

Busara Institute of Technology shall not be liable for delays, cancellations, or interruptions caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, civil unrest, venue issues, or government restrictions.

13. Your Rights

• Our policies comply with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) of South Africa.
• You have the right to clear information, fair treatment, and transparent pricing.
• We’re committed to handling cancellations and refunds fairly and promptly.

14. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising in connection with our services or these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
